Petosiris

Petosiris, llamado también  Anjefenjonsu, era uno de «los cinco grandes» (dyw wr), los Sumos sacerdotes de Thot en Hermópolis Magna que habían pasado por diferentes grados del sacerdocio al servicio de los dioses Sejmet, Jnum Amón-Ra y Hathor.


La familia de Petosiris era una familia local que tenia muchas posesiones, estaban vinculados al templo de Tot en la cuidad y por eso algunos de sus miembros eran sacerdotes:

Su abuelo se llamaba Dyedtotiuefanj , que significa "Tot dice que vivirá" y al igual que su padre, Nes-Shy, habian sido sido sumos sacerdotes en el templo y bajo la dinastia XXX, con sus faraones.

Petosiris tenia un hermano mayor y el cargo de sumo sacerdote pasó a él y posteriormente al propio Petosiris.
Él hace una gran carrera como sacerdote, es decir, al ser una persona piadosa y que cumple a la perfección el cargo, consigue destacar.
Durante el dominio persa de Egipto siguió cumpliendo su cometido a pesar de las tensiones lógicas y demás episodios que se suceden en este periodo.

Petosiris tiene un hijo llamado Totrej, es decir "Tot sabe" y este chico murió siendo muy joven. Esta muerte debió  afectar  a nuestro sacerdote , ya que  este hijo debería haber sido  su sucesor en el cargo. Como se comprueba con algunas palabras inscritas tales como " una vida de felicidad en el corazón; un buen entierro tras la senectud; mi cuerpo inhumado en esta tumba al lado de mi padre y mi hermano", indican su deseo, sencillo y humano para sus restos.

Description
Fragment of the wall of a turquoise blue glazed composition semi-circular, vessel (?) with ridged upper surface, two concentric ridges running round it, exterior heavily fluted. Thickly glazed on both upper surface, and outer fluted surface. Inner surface only partially glazed, while bottom surface is not glazed at all. Glaze is thick greenish blue, with mottled effect. Turquoise green glaze with streaks of a more blue colour. Core cream cream smooth, hard texture. Mottled effect in both glaze surface and core.
