Ptah-Sokar-Osiris statue of Herer

Ptah-Sokar-Osiris statue of Herer
Painted wooden figure of Ptah-Sokar-Osiris, with a red background wrapping, and a column of hieroglyphs down the lower front body and back column. The pedestal and crown of the god are lost. Such figures were placed in the tomb as guarantors of rebirth, in rich burials of the 1st millennium BC. The hieroglyphs on the back identify the tomb-owner in this case as a man called Herer.
