Jar
Spouted
pottery jar imported from northern to southern Egypt. Spouts for
pouring are not common in Egyptian pottery; the shape of this vase
appears to imitate imports from the Levant into northern Egypt. It was
excavated at Hierakonpolis, and shows the importance of that city as a centre of kingship participating in international trade.
