Glass fragment with a Anubis and the ankh, symbol of life. These tiny fragments, possibly in-lays from shrines and furniture, were made from polychrome glass canes laid side by side to create a picture. The rods were fused, left to cool, stretched to miniaturise, then sliced to form each piece. Country of Origin: Egypt. Culture: Ancient Egyptian. Date/Period: Graeco-Roman 3rd-1st C BC.
