Stone frog

A stone frog. On the back is a carved relief figure of a falcon, together with a serekh design enclosing the Horus name of an unidentified First Dynasty king. The king may be either Djet or Den, fifth ruler of the dynasty. Frog amulets helped ensure rebirth for the deceased. Country of Origin: Egypt. Culture: Ancient Egyptian.
