Food containers
Along with the various ritual items buried with a person, food was always provided in the burial chamber for the dead person's spirits. A regular supply was also supposed to be left in the tomb chapel in the offering place. In the chaos of Senneferi's burial chamber we have not yet identified any items of food, but the vast quantities of pottery show that many items must have been placed there. We know from other tombs, such as that of Kha (an intact tomb from Deir el-Medina, with the burial equipment now in Turin), that some types of food were placed in special wooden containers, and one complete and several broken examples of these were found.
