statue

This wooden statue represents a standing woman wearing a very beautiful wig that ends at the back in three plaits.
The statue once held an object, probably a sistrum, or metal musical instrument or rattle, which is now missing.
The lady is shown here in an unusual position for women, because she is standing with her left leg slightly forward at a time when women were usually shown with their legs side by side.
